Woman drug by runaway car

On April 20, 2016, the Russellville Police Department responded to a single vehicle accident with injuries on Southwood Drive. The operator of a Mercury Grand Marquis, Thelma Grayson, got out of her vehicle after pulling into a driveway but failed to secure the vehicle in the park position. Grayson attempted to get into the backseat of the vehicle to let someone else drive when the vehicle began to roll backwards. Grayson was knocked down by the back driver’s side door and was dragged approximately 10 feet by the vehicle before the front tire struck her left foot. The vehicle then crossed Southwood Drive into a yard, striking a tree.

Grayson was transported by Logan County EMS to Greenview Hospital.
