Traffic stop leads to arrest


On April 17, 2016, deputy Parker Rowland of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department initiated a traffic stop on a 2016 white Toyota Camry driven by Andre M. Brodie, 28, of Hopkinsville. Upon contact with the driver Rowland detected a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle a loaded hand gun was located in the center console of the vehicle.

The driver was placed under attest for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; speeding 23 MPH over the speed limit and driving on a suspended license.

Deputy Rowland is the investigating officer and was assisted on scene by the Kentucky State Police.
