Accident sends one to hospital


On Saturday, March 19, 2016, the Logan County Sheriffs responded to of a two vehicle accident with injuries on 68/80 East in front of Logan County High School.

Phillip Price, 49, of Georgia was making a left turn off of C. Dodson road on to 68/80 toward Russellville. A vehicle driven by Benjamin Pawley, 31, from Auburn was headed east bound on 68/80 through the intersection when he struck the vehicle driven by Phillip Price. The vehicle driven by Price rolled over one time and came to rest on its tires.

The Russellville Rural Fire department along with the Russellville Fire Department had to remove Price from the vehicle by Mechanical means.

Price was transported by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center. Pawley was not injured however his two young daughters were in the back seat in child safety chairs and were transported by Pawley to the Logan Memorial hospital for their injuries.

Deputy Parker Rowland of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident. He was assisted by Deputy Laura Hadden of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Officer Mike Reeser and Officer Vincent Brown of the Russellville Police Department, along with Logan County EMS and Russellville Rural Fire Department.
