Brian White has been named president of Auburn Banking Company and will officially begin his duties July 1, 2015.

White is one of the youngest presidents, at 43, to take the reins at ABC. He brings with him over 21 years of experience and a passion to help his community with their financial needs.

“I am both excited and am looking forward to continuing the level of service Auburn Banking Company is known for as president. We continually strive to serve the community and to make their financial experience a pleasant one. We want our customers to feel at home which is something I feel is extremely important,” said White.

White began his career in banking while attending Logan County High School at the young age of 17. He sat in the back of Lewisburg Bank sorting checks. It was when he attended Murray State University for accounting that he realized banking was where his path would lead him.

“I have always loved working with people and working in the financial world,” said White. “Helping people and seeing the excitement they have on their faces when they get a loan for their first house, or a young person get a loan for their first car, is great.”

White graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He came to work for ABC becoming vice president in 1998. Over the years he was mentored by bank president John Sheffield, who will continue to work with White three days a week at the Russellville branch while serving as chairman of the bank board. Sheffield has been in the banking industry for 41 years.

“I have a lot of faith in Brian. He is an excellent banker and brings years of experience with him to this position,” said Sheffield. “I’ve enjoyed working with Brian over the years. Although we have worked at Auburn Bank together, this will be the first time we will be working in the same office together. Brian will do great.”

White and his wife Carolyn live in Russellville with their two children, Coleman, 16, and Addie, 13. White said he is first and foremost thankful to the Lord for his many blessings, and his family for their continued support. Along with John and his co-workers, he thanks the customers of Auburn Banking Company for their patronage and for their trust.

For over 80 years Auburn Banking Company has been a presence in Logan County, taking pride in the community, their customers and their employees. They strive to bring you the most superior products, while still maintaining a home town bank customer service.
