Jon Moyers just joined as Russellville’s newest fireman. Moyers came in after veteran firefighter Charlie Logan retired.

Moyers was born and raised in Smiths Grove and is a 2003 graduate of Warren East High School. He has been a volunteer with the Russellville Fire Department since 2013.

Moyers is the son of Wayne and Kim Moyers of Smiths Grove. He is married to his wife Amy since June of 2015. He has a step son named Kayson.

The newly hired firefighter worked for Electric Plant Board for five years before being hired at the department. Moyers was sworn in on Jan. 15 at one of the department training sessions in front of friends and family by Russellville Mayor Mark Stratton. His badge was pinned on by his wife Amy Moyers.

“Jon is a hard worker with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. We are excited to have him as a full time firefighter,” said fire chief Shawn Ross.
