Auburn students did well in the Region 4 Archery Tournament held at Warren East Middle School in Bowling Green Jan. 30, 2016. The Auburn Elementary team finished second at the regional tournament and some of its shooters did very well.
Ella Moore is a 5th grade student at Auburn Elementary. She recently attended and placed 1st overall Elementary Female in the Region 4 Archery Tournament. Ella shot a 276 out of a possible 300 at the tournament. She began as an archer in 1st grade under her coach/dad, Bill Moore. She currently shoots on the Auburn Elementary Archery Team, under the instruction of Coach Bill Brinkley. Ella is a very determined archer and is looking forward to shooting at the KY State Archery Tournament to be held in Louisville in March. She is the daughter of Bill and Sarah Moore of Auburn.
Another stand-out shooter is Isaac Stanley, who is a 5th grade student at Auburn Elementary. Isaac took first place in the Elementary Boys Division for every tournament that he’s shot in this year (six tournaments), including the regional tournament at Warren East where he shot a 286. That score was first place Elementary Boys out of 155 kids and 2nd place overall boys out of 352, which includes middle and high school kids. His best score of the year was at Muhlenberg County (289). For comparison, the top shooter in the National Tournament last year for his age group shot a 290.
