Accident sends one to hospital


On Sunday, Jan 31, 2016, at 12:50 p.m. the Logan County Sheriffs Department received a call of a two vehicle injury accident on Clarksville Road. Upon arrival Deputy Bill Poole found two vehicles with severe damage. One a 1985 GMC pickup driven by Bobby Brown of Olmstead was sitting in the ditch facing east and two was a 2001 Nissan driven by James W. Russell of Bowling Green who was partially in the roadway facing north west.

Brown and his passenger Regina Brown of Olmstead were turning left into their driveway when Russell attempted to pass the vehicle hitting it in the passenger side rear causing the Brown vehicle to spin around and come to rest in the ditch.

The Olmstead Fire Department first responders were on scene giving emergency care to Bobby and Regina Brown. Russell was not injured, however, Mr. Brown sustained a head injury and Mrs. Brown sustained broken ribs in the crash.

Deputy Billy Poole is the investigating officer and was assisted by the Olmstead Fire Department and Logan County EMS.
