Cliff Wilder said he is so thankful to the county for coming out and clearing his road after the big snow that covered Logan County this past weekend. He came all the way from James Rose Road in Olmstead to the News-Democrat & Leader wanting to pay for an advertisement of thanks. Of course thank you’s of this sort don’t cost a thing.
“Oh Lord the snow was deep,” said Wilder who admitted this snow, mixed with ice, was a little worse than it has been in years.
“I remember we had a snow in 1976 or so that was so deep it covered a six foot post. When it snowed when I was a kid it would stay for two to three weeks. Now they get the roads clear in a day or two.”
Wilder said he knows it’s not easy for the road workers and all the others to get out in it and make it better for everyone else, but he sure does appreciate their dedication.
“We are all grateful for their help in a time of need and should be thankful for what we have,” said Wilder.
