There will soon be a new principal at Adairville School in south Logan County, according to superintendent Dr. Kevin Hub.
The job, which was recently held by Katina Kemplin, has been posted for a few days now and Hub is hoping to have a new principal in that position by July 10.
“That is just a day or two after the 30-day listing will be up,” Hub said.
By law, a job opening in a school has to be posted for 30 days before someone new can be hired.
Hub said that he wants to have the new principal hired by July 10 because there are professional development days scheduled for the following week.
Kemplin will be moving into a new position as a social studies consultant for the district.
“That was the one area that kept the high school from being distinguished,” Hub said. “She has been a consultant before and we think it’s a win-win for her and the district.”
This will be the second new principal hiring for the district this year. Olmstead hired Bonnie Watson to be its principal after former principal Ben Kemplin took an administrative position at the Logan County schools central office.
Hub said he expects to get plenty of good applicants for the position in Adairville.
“Adairville is an outstanding school and community,” Hub said. “This is a really good job for a principal. I think it will be similar to the opening we had at Olmstead.”
