Man dies in farming accident


Logan native dies in Logan farming accident.


On Monday, Nov. 02, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. the Logan County Sheriff Department was notified of a farming accident near a residence located at 249 Simmons Ford Road in Logan County. Upon arrival it was detemfned that David H. Blakey, 63, of Bowling Green was assisiting with the off-loading of a farm tractor from a flat bed frailer. As tractor was being off-loaded it inadvertently rolIed too far backwards and then underneath the bucket of a front end loader. Mr. Blakey was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The incident is currently under investigation by Capt. David Kitchens of the Logan County Sheriffs Department.
