A Tennessee woman was arrested for driving under the influence and assaulting emergency room staff at Logan Memorial Hospital early Sunday morning.
Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Parker Rowland responded to a single vehicle accident on 79 South in the 8000 block on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1:42 a.m.
According to a police report, Rowland made contact with Amanda Turpin of Tennessee at the scene of the accident and he detected a strong odor of alcohol on her.
Turpin was then transported to Logan Memorial Hospital for possible injuries resulting from the accident.
While at the hospital, Turpin assaulted two of the emergency room staff and was extremely disorderly. She was then placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first degree wanton endangerment, driving on a DUI suspended license, disorderly conduct and two counts of assault.
