Emma Trent, a 12-year-old from Logan County, recently donated a plethora of goodies to the Logan County Humane Society to help the homeless dogs and cats. Emma decided for her 12th birthday on Sept. 4th, she would instead of gifts, ask for donations that she could take to the shelter.

Emma’s mother Sheena Trent, was so proud of her daughter’s selfless act of kindness. When most kids look to what they will get for their birthdays, Emma looked to what she could give for her birthday. Emma loves animals and feels by helping them they can have a better life.

“Emma hopes this will spark a movement of sorts to give to the charity of your choice,” said Sheena. “We hope this will encourage some kids and adults to donate to a good cause, whether it be the Humane Society or Toys for Tots or whatever charity that needs help.”

Emma thanks all those who gave her donations to help the animals. They are a very big part of the effort.
