Two automobile accidents occur last week sending three to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
On Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle accident with injury on KY 79 north at the intersection of Proctor Mill Road.
According to the sheriff’s department, Valerie Troup, 45, of Russellville was stopped on Morgantown Road waiting to turn left onto Proctor Mill Road when she was rear-ended by a vehicle being driven by Lucas P. Shelton, 22, of Morgantown.
Shelton was not injured, however, his passenger, Crystal Gormley, 21, of Morgantown was with a non-life threatening injury. Both Troup and Gormley were transported by Logan County EMS to Bowling Green.
In a separate accident, another vehicle had turned onto Proctor Mill Road and heard the initial accident behind them. The driver looked in the rear view mirror and ran off the right side of the road and overturned. There were no injuries in that accident.
Deputy Bill Poole of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department is the investigating officer. He was assisted by other members of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Logan County EMS and the Russellville Rural Fire Department.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 1000 block of Stevenson Mill Road in reference to a single vehicle rollover accident. Upon arrival, deputies and first responders from the Russellville Rural Fire Department located Shelby Bell, 19, of Russellville, sitting on the embankment just off the roadway.
Bell advised he was traveling west on Stevenson Mill Road when he ran off the right shoulder of the roadway. Bell then over-corrected twice, ran off the right shoulder a second time, overturning his vehicle at least twice before coming to a rest.
Bell was transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputy Jakop Smith of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department is the investigating officer. He was assisted by Sergeant Clint Wright and Captain David Kitchens of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, the Russellville Rural Fire Department and Logan County EMS.
