Sheriff’s August call report

There were 1,563 calls coming into the Logan County Sheriff’s Department in the month of August. Sheriff Wallace Whittaker said the numbers were up a bit from July, but not anything out of the ordinary.

Out of those calls there were: 8 escort traffic/security, 21 automotive accidents, 13 with injury, 38 alarm checks, 1 abuse, 2 alcohol intoxication, 20 animal incidents, 3 assaults, 8 anonymous tips, 5 attempts to locate, 188 attempts to serve, 1 search warrant, 58 attempts to serve warrants, 7 all terrain vehicle complaints, 11 burglaries, 5 burglaries in progress, 28 business checks, 91 citizen arrests, 6 child custody disputes, 15 court appearances, 12 criminal mischief, 4 criminal trespass, 1 deliver message, 10 disturbances, 18 disturbances in progress, 1 direct patrol, 4 drug incidents, 7 driving under the influence, 3 structure fires, 2 vehicle fires, 2 fireworks, 2 fraud, 23 follow up investigations, 5 general information, 6 harassment, 1 indecent exposure, 4 in-service training, 11 juvenile offenses, 6 K-9 requests, 1 residential lockout, 1 loud music, 1 loud noise, 1 loud party, 1 diabetic emergency, 3 unknown medical, 1 medical/all other, 1 unresponsive patient, 2 drug overdose, 1 mentally ill patient, 1 missing juvenile, 2 missing persons, 22 officer requests assistance, 1 open door, 110 be out at, 136 routine parole, 29 prisoner transports, 4 prowler, 38 reckless driving, 3 recovered property, 1 vehicle repossession, 15 road hazard, 2 scams, 2 search operations, 1 severe weather, 4 sex offenses, 1 shooting, 2 shoplifting, 3 shots fired, 19 special detail, 4 speeding, 19 school resource, 1 stand by, 1 suicide, 1 suicidal subject, 10 suspicious persons, 26 suspicious vehicles, 7 terroristic threatening, 9 test call, 16 theft of property, 1 theft of vehicle, 330 traffic stops, 2 unauthorized use of vehicle, 11 vehicle inspections, 7 vehicles unattended, and 13 welfare checks.
