Russellville Fire Department welcomes new firefighter

The Russellville City Fire Department recently announced the hiring of a new full-time career firefighter/EMT.

According to Russellville Fire Chief Shawn Ross, Ethan Thomason began his new position with the department on Monday June 1, 2015.

“Ethan had previously served as a part-time volunteer firefighter for the Russellville Fire Department, where he has been a member since 2013,” said Ross.

Throughout Thomason’s firefighting career, he has been a firefighter for various departments for five years. He is originally from Lewisburg and is a 2010 graduate of Logan County High School.

Thomason brings an impressive resume to the table, holding the following certifications:

Kentucky certified 400 hour trained firefighter

Kentucky and National Registry certified EMT

Hazmat technician level certification

Associate’s degree in fire rescue science

“Ethan will be a valuable asset to the city and the fire department for years to come,” said chief Ross. “We are glad to have him aboard.”
