Motorcycle accident sends one to hospital


On Aug. 28. 2015, at 3:11 p.m. the Logan County Sheriffs Office responded to a two vehicle accident involving injury on 68/80 Bypass at the Stevenson Mill Road intersection.

Upon arrival and through investigation it was found that 63-year-old Paul Kerr of Russellville was traveling west bound on the Bypass on a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle, when 24-year-old Dustin Knight of Adairville was traveling south bound on Stevenson Mill Road in a 1999 Buick. Knight- who was stopped at the stop sign- stated that he did not see Kerr due to a school bus making a right hand turn. Knight then proceeded into the intersection causing Kerr to collide with the rear driver side of Knights vehicle.

Kerr was ejected from his motorcycle and traveled several feet before coming to final rest in the west bound lane of traffic. Kerr was life for numerous injuries. Knight and his passenger, 20-year-old Cristal E. Rogers of Russellville reported no injuries at time of the accident.

Deputy Kyler Harvey is the investigating deputy. He was assisted by Sergeant Clint Wright, Deputy Jakop Smith, the Russellville City Fire Department and Logan County EMS.
