Armed robbery suspect arrested in Russellville


Three others picked up for meth

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department got an armed robbery suspect and a three individuals with methamphetamine off the streets last week with arrests in three different incidents.

On Thursday, Aug. 20, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received information about a suspect who was allegedly involved in an armed robbery on Aug. 16 at a Dollar General store in Montgomery County, Tenn.

At 6:40 p.m., deputy Kyler Harvey located the suspect, 21-year-old Joshua L. Rickerson of Russellville, at the NorthBrook Apartment complex.

According to a police report, deputies were able to identify Rickson by looking at the video footage from the store robbery. When he was found, Rickson was wearing the same shoes he had worn during the robbery, the report said. Deputies also located a blue bandana that he had used to conceal his face.

At the time, Rickson was wanted on a local warrant for failure to appear in court. He was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of being a fugitive from another state. Harvey was assisted by Sergeant Clint Wright and deputy Jarrod Lyons.

Rickson is facing charges of aggravated robbery in Tennessee.

On Thursday, Aug. 20, Deputy Harvey also responded 187 Wilhelm Road in Russellville to follow up on an investigation.

According to a police report, after he was given consent to search the residence, Harvey located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

And as a result, Rita Danielle Ashby, 19 of Russellville, was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, Aug. 18, Logan County Sheriff’s Department deputy Jarrod Lyons and Social Services responded to a home at 113 Rogers Drive in Auburn for a home visit pertaining to possible illegal drug use in close proximity to juveniles.

According to a police report, Lyons found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia lying in plain sight inside the home.

A further search turned up numerous items of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia throughout the residence.

Rebecca J. Goodwin, 32 of Auburn, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Roger W. Canler, 48 of Auburn, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
