The former Glenda Elaine Rittenberry and Lieutenant Ernest Boyd Ezell, Jr. were united in Marriage on 22 November 1970 at Plainview Baptist Church, Auburn, Kentucky. The double ring ceremony was performed by the late Rev. Glenn Bennett of Auburn Cumberland Presbyterian Church assisted by Rev. Walter Evetts of Plainview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Elaine Ezell is the daughter of the late Edd and Mattie Rittenberry of the Chandler’s Community. Dr. Ernie Ezell is the son of the late Evelyn and Ernest Boyd Ezell, Sr. of the South Union Community.
Mrs. Ezell is a retired Library Media Specialist in the Bowling Green City Schools, Bowling Green, Ohio. She formally taught at Chandlers Chapel High School and Raeford Junior HS in Raeford, NC. Elaine is a graduate of Chandlers HS and Western Kentucky University. She has also earned Graduate Degrees from WKU and The Ohio State University. Dr. Ezell is Professor Emeritus at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. He formally served as an Army Infantry Officer with the 82nd Airborne Division, and later taught at Western Kentucky University and worked as a Research Associate at Ohio State University. Ernie is a graduate of Auburn HS and Western Kentucky University. He has also earned Graduate Degrees from WKU and The Ohio State University The couple is presently living on the Old Rittenberry Farm in the Plainview Community, where they keep busy and count their blessing. Both are active in their community and try to live their lives based upon the premise of “making a difference”!
The couple will take advantage of the Gasper River Cumberland Presbyterian Church’s Thanksgiving Fellowship Meal on the 22nd of November to celebrate the occasion and will later make a Christmas Trip to Columbus, Ohio to visit with their 5 year old Grandson, Trevor Boyd Ezell, his 3 year old twin brothers, Myles Kevin and Griffin Matthew Ezell, and their parents: Brian and Katie Ezell.
