So, you think that old gold coin your grandfather gave you might be worth something? Or how about that vintage Barbie doll? Most people have something in their home they secretly hope is valuable, but often just don’t know how to find out.

The Treasure Hunters Roadshow invites people to bring their items in and find out how much they are worth.

“We look at about anything and everything,” said Matt Enright, vice president of media relations with Treasure Hunters Roadshow.

The show will be in Russellville this week, Tuesday through Saturday at the Logan County Extension Office. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

“We’ve been getting tons of calls,” Enright said. “It should be pretty exciting.”

Enright encouraged Logan Countians to find their potential treasures and bring them out to the show and let their experts take a look at the items.

He told of one woman who for years had what she thought was a fake Abraham Lincoln document. She decided to bring it in, just to let the experts check it.

“It was real,” Enright said, “and worth $25,000.”

“You just have to keep an open mind,” he added.

Enright said they’ve seen many interesting items brought to their shows, including Johnny Cash’s bed, a gold coin worth $120,000 and a 1st edition of Huck Finn.

“We’ve seen so many different items,” Enright said. “It’s awesome.”

Enright said the stories behind the items are often interesting as well.

The Treasure Hunters Roadshow travels the country looking for hidden and unexpected treasures. The treasure hunters hope to see things like coins and paper currency issued prior to 1965, toys, dolls, trains, vintage jewelry, old and modern musical instruments, war memorabilia, gold and silver jewelry, costume jewelry, advertising memorabilia, swords, knives, daggers and the unusual.

There is no cost for an expert to take a look at an item and people can bring as many items as they want. Roadshow guests are encouraged to bring along all their broken gold jewelry because gold prices are high right now.

Collectors are very serious about their hobbies. The Roadshow is a place where anyone in your community can connect with collectors from around the globe. The treasure hunters make offers based on what their collectors are willing to pay. When someone decides to sell, they get paid on the spot and the treasure hunters send the item to the collector at their expense.

Enright said they are looking forward to all sorts of great finds in Russellville and they hope many people will come out to the show.
