Hey, how are things going? Some gardens are producing I hear and see. I have been given squash, cucumbers and sure enjoying them. I’ve got a squash recipe I really enjoy. It’s called a 5 vegetable mean. It uses squash, zucchini, carrots, onions, peppers and pees. Yep, it’s good.
I got a call Friday from Mrs. Moore in Bowling Green. She reads my column. Many thanks. I have never met her, but enjoyed her call very much. Hope to meet her someday.
Elaine and Tara got home from Charleston yesterday. They had car trouble somewhere and eventually found one of the good guys, cause he really was nice to them. John leaves for Saudi July 6th for 6 months, oh me, wish those days were over.
Sherry Harris got her Sunday afternoon from Louisville arriving with boxes of KFC. So we had a good supper. Then Monday morning, Charlie Delk, another cousin, came down awhile from Everett. Later that day were Sue Fuller with slaw and frozen dessert and her sister Louise Henderson of Antioch, with cornbread muffins, that delicious vegetable salad and Lima beans. I had barbecue and green beans with new potatoes. Did I say we really enjoyed ourselves? Monday night we ate at Roys, so we kept busy.
Our heartfelt sympathy to the Stuart family. I didn’t know Dwayne and his family, but his parents, Warren and Betty, I did. In one so young, sure makes it rough.
On Thursday, Dr. Lynwood Montell of Bowling Green came down. We sure found some roads we had not previously found down in Bulter County… or somewhere. We ate at the Ranger Grill, and of course it was good.
I’m sure I stand alone in this thinking, but after all, this is suppose to be a free country. Okay, who is the authority on saying 13-year-olds are not to come to Bible school except to help instead of having a class for them? They are at an age to learn and they remember. I know this is a different time and age when churches had adults to have classes. Hey we may be old, but we can still learn. Once in a while.= you hear of a class for adults. Churches, I think you are missing out on extra blessings. As I said, its one opinion. But give thought to the idea. And yes, I have worked Bible school lots of times. What is your thinking?
Here it is, time to celebrate the 4th of July. Hope you and yours have a safe and happy 4th.
See ya next time and have a great week!
