Can tab donation for Shriners

December 19, 2013

The annual can tab for Shriners donation was made last week with a total of $2,265.33 raised for Shriners Hospitals for Children. Representing the Shriners and accepting the donations were Mr. and Mrs. Al Harston from Madisonville. The Harston’s also presented certificates of appreciation to Pat and Cindy Suiter from Bluegrass Recycling of Russellville and to C.K. and Jana Hanks of Hanks Construction in Auburn for the amazing support from both Logan County businesses. Both Bluegrass Recycling and Hanks Construction Company are supporters of this worthy cause and has supported the can tab campaign for years.

A big thank you to everyone in and around Logan County for helping save the aluminum can tabs. This is an on-going campaign and tabs can be dropped off at Hanks Construction Company in Auburn all throughout the year. Every single penny raised goes directly to support Shriners Hospitals for Children. The can tab campaign goes specifically to support the Cincinnati Burn Unit.

As Jana Hanks has said time and time again, “everyone can help make a difference” by saving can tabs. The program has already began again for next years donation and everyone is encouraged to continue to save your tabs. If you personally or any organization would like to get on board to support Shriners Hospitals for Children, start saving today. For more information on the can tab campaign or to make a monetary donation to Shriners, contact Jana Hanks at 725-7091.
