Roberta Scarbrough Martin, age 86, of Auburn, Ky., entered into her heavenly home Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018.

She was born in Logan County, Ky. on Sept. 3, 1932, to the late Ernest G. and Gladys (Fuller) Scarbrough.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Sammie Earl Martin and her brother, M. E. “Bill” Scarbrough.

She was a full-time homemaker and provided child care to many children in the Cave Spring Community over the years. Those children still love her dearly as she did them. She was a long time member of the Cave Spring Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, helped in the nursery and vacation Bible school for many years. Her passion was the love she had for her children and grandchildren.

Roberta Scarbrough Martin is survived by three sons, Kenneth Martin of Auburn, Roger Martin of Auburn and Timmy Martin of Morgantown; two daughters, Sherry Martin Montgomery of Shelbyville, Tenn. and Kimberly Martin Harper of Russellville; sister Naomi Collins of Franklin; eight grandchildren, Felicia Peacock, Marcy Duncan, Marsha Martin, Joshua Montgomery, Roger Neal Martin, Jr., Heather Smith, Travor Martin and Brett Martin, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Roberta Scarbrough Martin will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Cave Spring Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Odle officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, Nov. 2 from 5-8 p.m. at the Cave Spring Baptist Church and again Saturday, Nov. 3 from 12 p.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. at the church. Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cave Spring Baptist Church C/O Brian Estes, 182 Gasper River Road, Auburn, KY 42206. Envelopes will be available at the church.
