Charles L. Edwards, age 91, of Russellville, Ky., passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born in Warren County, Ky. on June 13, 1927, to the late Charlie Johnson Edwards and Hattie Lawson Edwards.

Charles was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 60 years and was a carpenter with Waters Construction.

Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his two brothers, six sisters, and a grandchild, Chris Wolfe.

Charles is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lila Thornberry Edwards; one son, Larry Edwards (Shelia) of Russellville; two daughters, Gwen Pendleton (the late Charles) of Russellville and Patty Austin (Jerry) of Smyrna, Tenn.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Charles L. Edwards will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Bro. Nick Stamps and Bro. Wilbur Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Russellville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel and continue until funeral time at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers are Tracy Knuckles, Zach Knuckles, Roger Gray, Bobby Covington, Jerry Aus, in and Jake Wolfe.
