The 13th District soccer tournament was held in Franklin this week. The bracket featured both boys and girls teams from all four 13th District schools. The district is comprised of Logan County, Russellville, Franklin-Simpson, and Todd County Central.

On Tuesday, the opening round was played starting at 5:30. The Cougars (9-6) beat the Rebels (0-14) in the first boys game. The score was 6-0. In the girls game, Logan County (11-6) defeated Russellville (1-12) by a final of 7-0.

The nightcap featured Russellville boys (8-12-2) falling to Franklin-Simpson (7-9) by a score of 4-0. On the girls' field, it was Franklin-Simpson (7-11) outlasting Todd County (7-11) in double overtime. The final of 3-2 was enough to advance the Lady Cats to the Thursday night championship game against the Lady Cougars. The boys' championship was also between Franklin-Simpson and Logan County.

The game was played after the NDL press deadline on Thursday. We will have the results in the Tuesday edition of the newspaper.
