Olmstead cheerleader Hannah Brown gets the crowd pumped up for the game against Russellville on Tuesday.

The Olmstead Middle School basketball teams traveled to Russellville High School on Tuesday night to face the Russellville Middle School Panthers. The two Russellville teams rolled to victory in the boys/girls doubleheader.

The Lady Panthers hosted the Lady Rams in the first game. Russellville led 23-0 at the half, but Olmstead started putting up points after the break. Gracie Borders scored ten in the third quarter. Sydney Baldwin hit one shot for two. Borders would finish with 16 points for Olmstead.

The Lady Rams went on to score eight more points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to catch up to the Russellville. The Lady Panthers held on to win 48-20.

Jaylah Kees was the leading scorer for Russellville with 14. Alicia Davis scored ten. Jas Kennedy scored six in the second quarter. Jordin Morris finished with four points.

The boys game was close throughout the first half. The Panthers pulled away after the half to win the game 33-22.

At the end of the first quarter, the score was tied at 9-9. Jeremiah Smith nailed two 3-pointers in the first. Samson Hightower also sank a three for the Panthers. Harper Butler hit two 3-pointers and two free throws in the opening frame for Olmstead.

The score remained knotted going into halftime. Each team had 14 on the board. The Panthers outscored the Rams 19-8 in the second half to take the win.

Jeremiah Smith finished with 14 on the evening for the home team. AJ Woodard and Samson Hightower each had six points. Jayden Russell finished with five for the Panthers.

Harper Butler led the pack for Olmstead with 13 points.

The final in the boys game was 33-22.
