The 2018 basketball season is officially underway. The ladies got started first on Monday. The Lady Panthers and Lady Cougars each notched a win on opening night.

Russellville welcomed Warren Central to the home court on Monday. The final score was 59-45 in favor of the Lady Panthers.

Anastasia Dowlen led the charge with 17 points. Senior DeShayla LeBlanc dropped 14 on the Lady Dragons. Chloe Whitescarver scored in all four quarters to end with 11 on the night.

Russellville ended the first quarter down 15-9. The Lady Panthers got hot and scored 20 in the second quarter to take a 29-26 lead going into the break.

The Lady Panthers would carry that momentum throughout the remainder of the game to get the win.

Russellville will play Butler County on the road tonight.

Logan County traveled to Warren East on Monday and got the win 52-48. The first home game for the Lady Cougars was scheduled after the NDL deadline on Thursday. The next home game for Logan will be on Tuesday against Warren Central.
