The Russellville Lady Panthers soccer team beat Monroe County 8-1 on Tuesday for the first win in program history. The team is coached by Eric Evans.

In 2018, Russellville High School is fielding a girls soccer team for the first time in school history. The team played the first 11 games of the season and failed to come up with a win, but continued to show signs of improvement. On Tuesday, the Lady Panthers took the field one last time in the inaugural regular season and beat Monroe County 8-2 for the program's first win ever.

The Lady Panthers will play Logan County in the opening round of the 13th District tournament at Franklin on Tuesday.

The boys' soccer team hosted a good Trigg County team on Monday and dropped that contest 5-1. Trigg County (11-5-1) won the game 5-1. Avery Flener scored the lone goal for the Panthers. Hunter McDowell got the assist.

Goalkeeper Jesus Zamarripa recorded 13 saves on a busy night at the net.

The Panthers (8-9-2) will play Franklin-Simpson (6-9-0) at 7:30 Tuesday for the first round of the district tournament.
