Logan County's Presley Harris makes a catch at WKU on Monday. The Lady Cougars lost 1-0 to the Lady Patriots.

The Lady Cougars traveled to WKU on Monday for the opening round of the Fourth Region tournament. Logan County drew the always dangerous Allen County-Scottsville. The Lady Patriots were the 15th District champions of 2018 with a record of (23-9) coming into the regional tournament.

Previously, Logan County split a two-game series with Allen County this season. On Monday, The Lady Pats won a hard-fought game 1-0.

The pitchers' dual between Logan County's Sydney Lee and Allen County's Kris Anne Pardue kept the bats quiet in this game. There were only six total hits between both teams.

Rosie Kerchenski hit a double late in the game for the Lady Cougars. KJ Page, Presley Harris, and Shelby Gettings each hit singles.

The Lady Patriots only had two hits.

Gettings got the first base hit of the contest in the top of the third inning. The two-out single was followed up by another single by KJ Page. Pardue surrendered her only walk of the game to load the bases. A strikeout ended the threat and left the game scoreless.

Both teams continued to fight for any offensive spark throughout the remainder of the game but failed to break the pattern.

The bottom of the seventh inning started with a 14-pitch walk that included eight foul balls and a very close called ball four for Jae McReynolds of Allen County. A sacrifice bunt moved her to second base with one out. The next batter hit a sacrifice fly to move McReynolds to third base with two outs. After an intentional walk, Allen County had runners at the corners with two away. The next batter hit a grounder and reached on a throwing error which ended the game.

The Lady Cougars end the season with a record of (17-11.) They had no Seniors in 2018.
