After a second fantastic regular season, the Logan County High School football team will begin the Class 4A playoffs tonight at home against Allen County-Scottsville.

The Cougars went 9-1 in the regular season overall and 4-1 in the district to finish second and earn the home game. Allen County-Scottsville went 6-4 overall and were 1-2 in its district, finishing third.

Logan County was led on offense this regular season by Gary Hardy, who finished with 1,334 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.

Quarterback Tyler Ezell threw for 1,387 yards and 11 touchdowns while also rushing for 396 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Maurice Gordon and Dontavious Blann led the team in receiving. Gordon had 31 receptions for 455 yards and four touchdowns. Blann had 20 receptions for 323 yards and five touchdowns.

The top tacklers for LCHS was Caden McKinnis, who finished with 83 tackles and Zach Yates, who had 75 tackles.

If Logan County wins, the Cougars will play the winner of Franklin-Simpson and Calloway County next week.
