The Russellville Panthers were on the field early this week in scrimmage play against Heritage Christian Academy from Hopkinsville. Coach Jeramy Rust and his Panthers start the regular season on Monday as they host Monroe County at 6:30 pm.

Coach Rust said, " I expect us to be very competitive in the district this year despite our youth in certain areas of the team."

The 13th district is made up of Russellville, Logan County, Todd County, and Franklin-Simpson.

"We have worked hard to rebuild a program that has been one of the top in the region in the past. We have made a giant leap from where we were a year ago," Coach Rust went on to say.

"We have spent a lot of the preseason trying to build unity among our new players and old."

Russellville has 15 new Varsity players on the roster this season. There are four returning Varsity players.

The Panthers start the season with four home games in a row. The soccer games will be held at Russellville High School this season instead of Rhea Stadium.
