Tourism releases the list of the 2017 Hometown Haybale Trail of Logan County.

"We had over 100 miles of haybales all over Logan County this year," said Dee Dee Brown, Executive Director of the the Logan County Tourism & Convention Commission. "We had 27 haybales entries for everyone to tour and enjoy. Twelve are new ones that did not take part last year."

Tourism Chairman, Janie Gregory said, "We were very pleased with the outpouring of support from new entries. Many were in Russellville and Auburn, but some could be found in every branch of the County."

Tourism moved the trail up by a few weeks this year so that the event could be included in with the Tobacco & Heritage Festival. Next year they may move it back to last year's dates to better accommodate some of the farmer's who didn't get to participate this year because of timing.

"We are very pleased with the turn out even though we had a few less than last year," said Brown. "Pictures will be up on our Facebook page "Logan County-Tourism" this week so that the public can begin voting.

Voting will close down at midnight on Thursday, Oct. 19 and winners will be announced on Friday, Oct. 20.

"We are in hopes that the bales will stay out through the end of the month so that the public can continue to enjoy them all month long," said Gregory.

First, second and third places for businesses, individuals, churches and schools will all be recognized, and there will be a top overall winner from out of all of these.

Trail brochures with all the locations can be found at the Logan County Tourism Office on the first floor of the historic Logan County Courthouse, the Logan County Chamber of Commerce on the square in Russellville, or the Logan County-Tourism Facebook Page and http://www.visitlogancounty.org/
