The Russellville Rotary Club welcomed U.S. Congressman, James Comer, at the weekly meeting on Nov. 1.

Congressman Comer represents the First Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives and has previously served as the Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner and in the Kentucky House of Representatives. Congressman Comer is from Monroe County, Ky. and has a long history in agriculture.

"The Congressman told the Rotary Club about the work he has done in Congress to improve the nation’s economy and changes in trade agreements that have been made over the past two years," said Elizabeth Teel, President of the Russellville Rotary Club. "Several Rotarians from the Russellville and Logan County School systems were present at the meeting, and the Congressman was particularly complimentary of the new Area Career and Technology Center that opened last year, commenting that centers such as that are a key element to future economic growth."
