The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner was another huge success this year thanks to the efforts of many churches and dozens of volunteers.

The Dinner, which delivers free traditional Thanksgiving meals to anyone that requests one, made sure everyone in Logan County had a turkey dinner on Thursday last week. Meals consisted of turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes and dessert.

“We also want to give a big thank you to everybody that has donated finances, materials and time to this endeavor,” said Steve Matthews, one of the even organizers. “Without them, we wouldn’t be able to make this happen.”

Planning for the event takes place for weeks, but most of the work was done last week by the volunteers who gathered at Russellville High School to make everything ready. And on Thursday morning, the meals were all boxed up and sent out for delivery, making sure no one was left out.
