On Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, agents of the South-Central Kentucky Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop at Murphy USA Fuel following a 2-month long investigation into the illegal distribution of crystal methamphetamine.

During the stop, the K-9 Ryker gave a positive alert on the car driven by Brad Baskerville. Approximately four ounces of crystal meth was located inside the car leading to the arrest of Baskerville.

The traffic stop along with other information obtained during the 2-month investigation led to the task force obtaining a search warrant on the address of 308 East 9th Street, Russellville. During service of the search warrant agents located approximately 1.64 pounds of crystal methamphetamine. Other Items seized where 64 pills of the opioid pain medication Lortab, scales, meth pipes, small amounts of marijuana, and $809.07 in US currency. The total amount of methamphetamine seized was approximately two pounds, which has a street value of $92,000.

 

Baskerville, 37, of Dunmor, is being charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, equal to or greater than two grams of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of CS 1st degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, no brake lights, and failure to or improper signal,.

The investigation is on going and charges are pending.

Assisting agencies included the Logan County Attorneys Office, Russellville Police Department, Logan County Sheriff Department, Drug Enforcement Agency and the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force.
