An arrest has been made in the death of a five-monthold baby who was found in June of this year in a trailer in John’s Mobile Home Park in Auburn.

At approximately 11:46 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department arrested 32-year-old Michael Anthony (Tony) Thigpen, in connection with the death.

The sherif f’s department cund ucted a lengthy investigation into the death of the baby. The department responded to Belcher Drive at approximately 2:50 p.m. on June 10 where an infant was found dead and two other children, ages one and a half and two had to be taken to the Medical Center in Bowling Green. The children were then transported to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

A autopsy was conducted on the deceased child Sunday, June 11 in Madisonville.

Thigpen is lodged in the Logan County Detention Center and is being charged with one count of second degree manslaughter, three counts of 1st degree wanton endangerment, three counts of 1st degree neglect and three counts of tampering with physical evidence.

The investigation was conducted by Detective Charles Dauley and Detective Kevin Bibb of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department. Also involved were the Logan County Department of Community Based Services.
